Intra-oral mapping technology is one of the most exciting new areas in dentistry since three-dimensional scanning of the mouth is required in a large number of procedures in dentistry such as restorative, implant therapy and orthodontics.    The CEREC®  Blue Cam is capable of producing inlays, onlays, crowns, laminate veneers, and even bridges.  It can also be utilized in conjunction with implant restoration as well as creating virtual 3D images for orthodontic treatment.   Having the ability to digitally scan the area to be worked on, allows a virtual image of the area to be created.  From this virtual image, a lab is then utilized for fabrication of a finished result meaning no impression material is used!   Our office also combines the Blue Cam 3D digital scanner with a milling unit  to create in-office dental restorations from commercially available blocks of ceramic or composite material in a single appointment.  No second visit!
